The Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies (CAILS), Ilorin, has started accepting applications for the 2025/2026 academic session. If you are interested in law, computer science, or Islamic studies, you now have the chance to apply for approved National Diploma (ND) and diploma programmes.
Apply for NBTE-approved National Diploma courses
CAILS has received approval from the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to admit students into the following ND programmes:
- ND in Law
- ND in Sharia and Common Law
- ND in Computer Science
- ND in Accountancy
- ND in Library Science
- ND in Mass Communication
To apply, you must have obtained a UTME form and meet the entry conditions. You must also change your first choice institution on the JAMB website to CAILS Ilorin.

B. School of Arts and Islamic Studies (2 years)
- Diploma in English and History
- Diploma in English and Islamic Studies
- Diploma in Islamic Studies and Yoruba
C. School of Languages (2 years)
- Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies (Arabic Medium)
- Diploma in Arabic and Islamic Studies (English Medium)
- Diploma in Arabic English
D. School of Education (3 years)
These programmes are equivalent to NCE and can lead to HND or 200-level university admission:
- Diploma in Arabic, Islamic Studies and Education
- Diploma in Islamic Studies, English and Education
- Diploma in Islamic Studies, Yoruba and Education

To gain admission into any diploma programme in categories B to D, you must have one of the following:
- WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, SSCE, GCE with at least four credits, including subjects relevant to the course
- Thanawiyyah or Tawjihiyyah certificate from an Arabic Senior Secondary School recognised by CAILS
- Certificate in Arabic and Islamic Studies from a recognised tertiary institution
- SAISSCE certificate approved by NBAIS
- Any other qualification accepted by the College
