What It’s All About

The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) is inviting undergraduates in Nigerian tertiary schools to take part in its 2025 essay competition. This year’s topic is:

“Employee Mental Health and Wellness: The Role of HR in Creating a Resilient and Supportive Workplace.”

If you’ve ever thought about how employers treat workers and how it affects their peace of mind, this is your chance to speak up.

What You Can Win

There’s money on the table and more:

  • First prize: ₦300,000 + 2 HR books
  • Second prize: ₦250,000 + 2 HR books
  • Third prize: ₦200,000 + 2 HR books

Also, winners get:

  • A paid trip to the CIPM 2025 International Conference and Exhibition in Abuja
  • Free student membership with CIPM (if you’re not already a member)
  • A chance to meet and connect with HR experts in Nigeria

Who Can Apply?

If you’re an undergraduate student in any Nigerian university, polytechnic or college of education, you can apply. Just make sure you haven’t won this competition before. Past winners are not allowed to enter again.

How to Take Part

To join the competition, write an essay on the given topic. Here’s what your essay should follow:

  • Length: Must not go over 3,000 words
  • Style: APA (6th Edition)
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12
  • Spacing: Double line spacing
  • Format: Only Microsoft Word format is accepted
  • Originality: No copying. If you plagiarise, you’ll be disqualified

What to Send

Put all of these into one Word file:

  • A scanned copy of your student ID card
  • copy of your admission letter
  • One recent passport photo
  • Your phone number and email address

  • Deadline: Friday, 29 August 2025
