Developing Engineering Leaders through Her (DELT-Her) Initiative 2025

The Developing Engineering Leaders through Her (DELT-Her) Initiative is now accepting applications for the 2025 cycle. If you’re a Nigerian woman with a solid engineering idea and a clear plan, this could be your shot to bring it to life.

Launched to bridge the gender gap in engineering and tech in Nigeria, DELT-Her backs young women with fresh ideas, strong teams, and the drive to build working solutions. It’s not just about funding. The programme offers mentorship and aims to shape those ideas into viable startup businesses.

This initiative draws inspiration from projects by groups like the Anita Borg Institute and the UN’s Girl Up! campaign, with a clear focus—get more girls into engineering and help them stay the course.

What the Programme Aims to Do

  • Back innovative ideas from young female engineers
  • Push for more gender inclusion in engineering and tech
  • Build networks that connect schools, businesses, and investors to support women-led engineering projects
  • Make female success stories more visible, especially to younger girls still choosing their path

Who Can Apply

To be eligible:

  • You must be a Nigerian woman aged between 23 and 45
  • You need at least a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering
  • You must already have a proposal for a clear, workable engineering idea
  • Your team must be at least 60% female to qualify for support

How to Apply

Applicants must complete the full application form and include a detailed project proposal.

Deadline: 31 July 2025

Submitting early is strongly advised to avoid any last-minute problems. If you’re ready with your idea and your team, don’t wait around. Apply now and take a bold step forward.
