Official Announcement
The declaration came from the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, and was shared through a statement signed by Magdalene Ajani, the ministry’s permanent secretary.
A Message to the Muslim Community
The Minister congratulated Muslims across Nigeria and abroad, urging them to reflect on the values of sacrifice and faith, as shown by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He encouraged the use of the period for prayer and reflection, especially towards building a more peaceful and united country.
Words From the Government
Tunji-Ojo also pointed to the current reforms under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, stating they are aimed at putting the country back on track.
While extending warm wishes for the celebration, he called on all Nigerians to support efforts to rebuild the nation and restore its strength.
