If Your Luggage Doesn’t Arrive, You Get 10,000 Naira Immediate Compensation — NCAA To Airline Passengers

Michael Achimugu, the Director of Consumer Protection at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has sent a message to airline passengers. In a video he shared today on X, he reminded travelers that airlines are legally required to compensate them when bags don’t arrive as scheduled — a rule many Nigerians are still unaware of. He said: “Hello, air travelers. I’m Michael Achimugu, Director of Consumer Protection at NCAA. If your luggage doesn’t arrive: domestic flights get 10,000 Naira immediate compensation; international >$100, or $170 if airline non-compliant per NCAA. Always request it. Arrive early for check-in/boarding. Never be late. Thank you.”
