JAMB Cut-Off Marks for 2025 Admission | UNIs, Polys & COEs

JAMB Cut-Off Marks for 2025 Admission | UNIs, Polys & COEs

JAMB has set the minimum cut-off marks for admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions for the 2025/2026 academic session. The key decisions made during the 2025 Policy Meeting on Admissions in Abuja are as follows:

Universities: Minimum cut-off mark is 150

Colleges of Nursing Sciences: Minimum score is 140

Polytechnics, Colleges of Education, and Colleges of Agriculture: Minimum score is 100

One number. That’s what it all seems to come down to. Not your name. Not the sleepless nights or that lucky biro. Just a figure. Fixed, debated, announced at a meeting in Abuja where decisions are made in a room most students will never see. Yet what happens there ripples across the country, into classrooms, lecture theatres, and family chats over dinner.

So what’s the latest? The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), chaired by Professor Ishaq Oloyede, has released the official cut-off marks for the 2024 admission cycle.

It’s not uniform. It never is. But there’s a base. And what each school does with it? That’s where it gets interesting.

What Is the JAMB Cut-Off Mark for 2025?

JAMB has declared the following as the minimum thresholds for admission:

  • 150 for universities
  • 140 for college of nursing sciences
  • 100 for polytechnics
  • 100 for colleges of education

But before you exhale or panic, here’s the twist: this is the floor, not the ceiling. Schools can set theirs higher. In fact, they often do. Because autonomy matters, and no one wants to lower their gates too far.

As Oloyede clarified during the 2025 policy meeting, each institution is free to set its own limit—so long as it stays above the national baseline.

So don’t assume. Check what your chosen school actually accepts.
