Nigerian Human Rights Activist Calls Out Lady For Allegedly Abandoning Her Baby

Ochiegbu Marvelous, the Nigerian human rights activist and director of the Behind Bars Initiative in Abia State, has publicly accused Georgina Benedict Atuh of allegedly abandoning her one-year-and-two-month-old baby. Ochiegbu, who disclosed this in a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, also accused Georgina of causing the child’s deformity, stating that it occurred because she allegedly took strong drugs to terminate the pregnancy. “Georgina Benedict Atuh from Umuwara Amizi Olokoro Umuahia South Abia state, a graduate of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture Umudike Abia state allegedly abandoned her 1year 2 months baby for 3 weeks now,” he wrote. “All attempts to contact her were unsuccessful. I don’t really know her reasons but is unfair to abandon a 1year 2 months old baby. Kindly note that it’s child outside wedlock. “Please help me reach out to her for her own side of the story. Her numbers 08107852045, 08132836325. From my findings I discovered that the father who is a retired police officer is not in support of her actions but her mother did. “So also reach out to the Mother 07085300246, to hear her own side of the story.”
