Senate President Godswill Akpabio on Wednesday paid a condolence visit to the Daura residence of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari to sympathize with his grieving family. Buhari, a former military Head of State and two-term civilian President, died on Sunday at a clinic in London at the age of 82. His remains were flown back to Nigeria on Tuesday by Vice President Kashim Shettima and President Bola Tinubu’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila. Tinubu, accompanied by a high-powered federal delegation, received the body at Katsina Airport. The late President was immediately taken to his hometown in Daura, Katsina State, where he was buried in accordance with Islamic rites and accorded full military honours, including a 21-gun salute.
