An overzealous fan of Nigerian music star Davido has created a stir online over his toxic show of love to his Idol.
The music star was captured in a video on an outing with his first daughter, Imade and her friend, when a die-hard fan of the singer lost his cool on sighting him. In the viral clip, rather than hug the singer or beg for a photo, the fan held tightly to Davido’s leg, almost dragging him to the floor. Luckily for Davido, his security intervened and almost beat up the fan.

Similarly, early this year, a fan of actress Toyin Abraham had lost her cool as she met the movie star. The excited female fan jumped on Toyin, and dragged her to the floor. The overzealous fan didn’t stop there; she went on to pray for the actress’s growth in the industry and spoke in tongues.
Last year, Davido’s bouncer, Lati, came under fire after a video of him assaulting the singer’s fan went viral. Following the backlash, Lati had allegedly compensated him for the assault with N200k and had reached out to him to apologise for his wrongdoing.
In 2023, during Mohbad’s Candlelight ceremony, Davido made headlines after he was captured knocking a fan’s phone as he attempted to capture the singer.
Also, during his Timeless Concert, Davido was on alert mode after a fan stormed the stage to meet him. The singer was ready to punch the fan, but the timely security intervention threw the fan off stage.
