The University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) has started receiving applications for its Post-Basic Nursing programmes for the 2025/2026 session. If you’re a registered nurse with clinical experience and looking to advance your career, this could be your next step.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered, you must:
- Hold five O’Level credits, in not more than two sittings, from WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB
- Required subjects: English, Maths, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry
- Be a registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
- Have at least one year of post-registration clinical experience in a relevant field

UBTH offers the following Post-Basic specialities:
- Critical Care Nursing and Management – ₦15,000
- Ophthalmic Nursing and Management – ₦15,000
- Perioperative Nursing and Management – ₦15,000
- Paediatric Nursing and Management – ₦15,000
- Accident and Emergency Nursing and Management – ₦15,000
- Gerontology Nursing – ₦20,000

- Fill the application form online
- Pay the non-refundable application fee via Remita, selecting UBTH TSA as the beneficiary
- Upload the completed form and required documents
Deadline and Exam Details
- Application closes: Friday, 29 August 2025
- Exam date, time and venue will be shared with applicants who pass the initial screening
